Whether rapping or pranking his friends, Problemattik is definitely a unique MC. Raised in Everett, Massachusetts, he has made a name for himself performing in the Boston underground Hip Hop scene and Juggalo subculture. His high energy live shows, hustler mentality, and comedic demeanor have led him to becoming a rap Juggernaut. Whether you like it or not, Problemattik isn't going anywhere and you actually might learn to like him!
Growing up in low income housing Problemattik learned at an early age what he wanted to be. He began rapping at the ripe age of 12 years old and struggled to find his way. One day an older MC battled him at lunch where he held his own and gained his peer’s respect. Unfortunately due to skipping school and issues with authority, he ended up dropping out of High School at the age of 16. Between getting his G.E.D., working job to job, and selling a little weed, music became a non factor. Time seemed to pass by and Hip Hop seemed to slip away until one night at a house party he was asked to rap again. Once he finished everyone was shocked at how good he was and told him to pursue a career at it. From here it was on!
Problemattik has grown to become a local support favorite opening up for Tech N9ne, Insane Clown Posse, Twiztid, Ghostface Killah, Kottonmouth Kings, Slaine, Army Of The Pharaohs, Riff Raff, Onyx, Snak The Ripper, Alla Xul Elu, and many more. His relentless work ethic eventually landed him national stage time at the Gathering Of The Juggalos in 2019. But probably the biggest highlights of his career have been performing in his hometown of Everett, MA alongside George Clinton and the Funkadelics, Sugar Ray, The Wailers, and Fastball at the Wynn Casino sponsored event, Village Fest. These events range from 6,000-10,000 people every year.
No stranger to getting it done, he has released numerous mixtapes and LPs under his label Fresh Baked Music Group; collaborating with established artists Block McCloud (Army Of The Pharaohs, Sewaside Squad), Thirstin Howl The 3rd, Big Shug (Gang Starr Foundation), Cappadonna (Wu Tang Clan), The Arcitype, and more. His merchandising and networking hustle is just as impressive as his live show. “Insane Clown Posse really shaped the way I look at merchandise and how important it is to have the dopest logos on various kinds of items like hats, pins,
lighters, shirts, etc. They also shaped my live performance. I watched them as a fan for years and seen how interactive they were and how they never let the crowd lose focus on them. I emulated that.” says Problemattik.
As an artist and man heavily influenced by his surroundings, Big Pun’s delivery, Tupac's fire, and Rage Against The Machines sound; Problemattik is fueled to channel it all into his music. “What I saw around me had an effect on the mood of most of my music. Angry, sad, but also sometimes happy, It made me more concious of life and mortality. I get deep and try to send a message with what i'm saying outside of the typical rappidy rap stuff” says Problemattik. Now with a clear vision of what he wants and how to obtain it, who knows what might be released next! Stay Tuned.
